Federica Aiello Pini is an artist based in Italy. Her works are inspired by nature, which, with its biodiversity and intertwining relationships, is a stimulus for her to investigate reality and the connections hidden behind appearances. Imagining to explore and connect places and space-time dimensions, she moves from the microcosm to the macrocosm seamlessly.
Mixed media (acrylic, oil, pastel, pencil, gold leaf) allows her to evoke multiple perceptions and sensations, while, through collage made of pieces of her previous works, torn and reassembled in a communion and fusion of different times, she builds a different idea of time: not linear, but synchronic, in which past, present and future coexist, interweaving possibilities and solutions. If we approach reality in a new way, we will perhaps be able to glimpse possibilities and open gaps, roads, and build new paths.
The artistic investigation also involves the human being with his emotions, transformed into abstraction in the course of the creative process, just as abstract and universal are the human experiences: she expresses them in particular through the theme of the kiss, recurring in her production. In fact, emotions also connect different times and places in our inner world.
BIOGRAPHY
Federica Aiello Pini studied Fine Arts at Accademia di Belle Arti in Bologna and Illustration in Florence. Subsequently, in the Masterclass in Visual Art and Design at the Venice Biennale “Segni d'acqua, la carta e le sue tradizioni. Tecniche e metodi per la realizzazione della carta a mano attraverso il procedimento creativo” has deepened the study of paper, such a familiar and central material in her work.
Over the course of her career, she has explored and developed her research through live performances, often in collaboration with musicians: first in Italy with the company Teatro all'Improvviso for "Summer Solstice. The music of wonders" at Palazzo Te, Mantua in 2012, then in Holland at Amstel 41 gallery of Amsterdam, and in Panama City for Jeronimo Gallery. These live performances led her to be invited as a visiting professor to the ESAD (Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático) in Cordoba (Spain), to conduct a series of workshops for the course of studies in Acting and Scenography, in 2013.
For several years she has been living in Panama, whose lush forests and explosions of color influenced her work. The same happened later in Portugal, where the strong energy of the ocean invaded her creative universe.
She exhibits in national and international shows, and her works are part of private and institutional collections around the world, such as those of the Portuguese Embassies in Panama and Oslo.
A firm believer in the role of the arts in improving health and well-being, she collaborates with museum institutions, such as the Fondazione Palazzo Te and the Casa del Mantegna in Mantua, and hospital institutions (Carlo Poma Hospital), in the development and implementation of workshops and cultural welfare projects.
